Welcome to YouthChangeAgents.org, the official home of Partners in Prevention Education
To engage homeless and at risk youth and adult allies in the elimination of sexual violence, bias, hate & general crimes as they contribute to homelessness and as they exist in street culture.
We achieve this though social change work, violence prevention education, and survivor support services including advocacy, therapy and support groups
Partners in Prevention Education began as a demonstration project in 2004, when Rosalinda Noriega was contracted by the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs to outreach to and work in partnership with homeless and at-risk youth to develop a plan to prevent sexual violence within their community.
Throughout PiPE's inception, local therapist and educator Chandra Lindeman provided support and consultation services and soon joined Rosalinda in continuing to work with youth and their vision of a community free of sexual violence.
In 2005, Partners in Prevention Education became an umbrella program of Bread and Roses of Olympia and received funding from the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy to provide sexual assault services to homeless and at-risk youth and young adults in Thurston County.
In 2006, PiPE expanded its area of focus to include domestic violence, child abuse prevention and crisis support through funding provided by the United Way of Thurston County.
On April 9, 2007, Partners in Prevention Education became a federally recognized 501 (c) (3) non-profit.
In June of 2010 PiPE relocated to a building right in the heart of downtown Olympia. We were located in the same building as two other amazing nonprofits: United Communities AIDS Network and Stonewall Youth. There we strengthened our collaboration with organizations like Stonewall Youth, CYS, and Pizza Klatch. That same year we expanded our services to include victims of general crimes.
Once again we relocated. In August of 2012 we moved into our own building within the heart of Downtown Olympia. Again we were able to further expand our services. Our new home has a fully functioning kitchen, showers, washer and dryer, an upstairs office space, and comfortable, inviting therapy offices.
